Visit the award-winning pub, which was built as a coaching inn in 1748 and is situated only 300 yards from the cottage. There is also a village shop. A mile away stands the ancient Rollright Stones, dating from around 2000BC.
    Long Compton is a walker’s paradise with the MacMillan Way passing by the village. It is an ideal place to stay to explore the beautiful Cotswolds villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Broadway and many more including Chipping Norton, 4½ miles away. A little further away stands Blenheim Palace and Oxford to the south. A 30-minutes’ drive north will take you to the famous, historical town of Stratford-upon-Avon. There are a number of wonderful National Trust properties within an hour’s drive, including Baddesley Clinton, Charlcote Park and Snowshill Manor. For golfers, there are two excellent courses close by, and for horse riders, guests will find an excellent riding school. Bikes are available to hire from Morton-in-Marsh.
