Find cottages in Wooler

The pretty stone built market town of Wooler nestles at the foot of the Cheviot Hills in northern Northumberland. It’s the perfect place for a totally relaxing self catering cottage holiday amongst the wide open spaces, big skies and wild beauty of this place.

This is an area that is truly blessed with its fair share of natural beauty, and has long had a reputation as the perfect place to rest and relax. The charming main street is the hub of both the town and its outlying communities, and is home to plenty of friendly bustling shops and cafes.

The area is dotted with evidence of Iron and Bronze Age settlements and you will find some of the best walking country in the whole of the United Kingdom here, from gentle circular strolls to exhilarating hikes through the hills. Both St. Cuthbert’s Walk and The Pennine Way are easily accessible and there are several designated mountain bike routes that take in the best of the stunning views.

Anglers will be delighted by the excellent fishing on the rivers Tween and Till, and there are facilities for tennis, climbing, golf and horse-riding all within easy reach. If you fancy some sea air, the magnificent Northumberland coast is just a short drive away, including Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island and the Northumberland National Park is right on the doorstep. For a spooky day out visit Chillingham Castle, thought to be one of the most haunted castles in the country.

For a truly memorable holiday, make sure to search for Wooler holiday cottages today.
