Over the centuries, Berwick-upon-Tweed has seen many changes of ownership. Things were finally settled in 1482, when the town fell under the control of the English. Built during the reign of Queen Victoria, this railway viaduct makes an imposing sight and will provide some excellent holiday photographs. Those interested in art are sure to want to experience the Berwick Lowry Trail, which takes in many of the actual sites that inspired the famous artist L S Lowry during his many visits to the town.
