Attractions in the area include the North Norfolk Steam Railway, a short drive away to Sherringham or Holt, catch a crab or two off the pier at Cromer, Holkham National Nature Reserve for the seal colonies and other marine wildlife, zoos, National Trust (NT) houses (including Sandringham). For those that like to while away their time fishing, there are two options available. The first is the Silverfish Lake at the rear of the property which is open all year round from daybreak to dusk and is free to use for those staying at the cottage. It is a family friendly lake managed for recreational fishing and spotting birds and wildlife (otters, kingfishers, butterlies and more). The paths around Silverfish Lake are mown weekly between spring and autumn. Next door is the superb St George’s Fishery which is available for up to 2 visitors to the cottage, free of charge.
