With over 125 miles of navigable rivers, the Broads are ideal for a day out in a canoe or day boat, both of which are for hire in nearby Stalham or Wroxham. Weavers Way is on the doorstep and this old railway is now a bridleway and footpath, providing 61 miles of opportunities to see the tranquil countryside and wildlife by foot, bike or horse riding. Attractions in the area include the North Norfolk Steam Railway, a short drive away to Sherringham or Holt, catch a crab or two off the pier at Cromer, Holkham National Nature Reserve for the seal colonies and other marine wildlife, zoos, National Trust (NT) houses (including Sandringham). For those that like to while away their time fishing, there are two options available. The first is the Silverfish Lake at the rear of the property which is open all year round from daybreak to dusk and is free to use for those staying at the cottage.
