For guests wanting to enjoy a theatre break, Hexham has its own theatre that is open all year round as well as many popular historic attractions including Hexham Old Gaol. Also perfect for guests wanting to enjoy a walking or cycling holiday, there are many established footpaths and cycle paths that lead directly through the owner’s grounds and out towards the towns and villages in the surrounding areas.

    This is Hadrian’s Wall country and guests will be able to explore many of the historic Roman forts and settlements along the wall itself. A day trip to Vindolanda, Aydon Castle and Dilston Castle are a must as well as a trip to nearby Newcastle upon Tyne which is only a 20 minute drive away, and offers cultural centres including The Sage and the Centre for Life as well as an extensive range of shops and boutiques. The popular Metrocentre is based in Gateshead and can be reached within a 25 minute drive and offers guests the chance to browse through the largest shopping centre in Europe, as well as enjoying a meal in one of the many restaurants or a film in the multi-screen cinema.
