For a little taste of history you could head to Lincoln Castle which was built in the 11th Century, where you can walk the walls and visit the Victorian prison. Or you could explore Lincoln''s famous gothic Cathedral and marvel at its intricate carvings; why not set the kids the challenge of finding the ''Lincoln imp'' or the ‘Cat and Mouse’ hidden within the building. The Cathedral can be reached by the aptly named ''Steep Hill'' but be sure to pace yourself and enjoy the quirky shops and tearooms on the way up.

    There are many pubs, restaurants and shops all within easy reach, not just in the village of Grasby but also in Caistor, Brigg and Market Rasen. Enjoy a day out in historic Lincoln, or the seaside resorts of Cleethorpes and Skegness.
