Located right next to the sandy dunes that extend between Lytham St Annes and Blackpool, The Dunes is the ideal getaway for families or groups of friends looking for a coastal escape with lots to see and do within easy reach. Built in the 1960s, this fantastic detached seaside home benefits from large rooms and big windows, making it a very bright and spacious house. The entrance hall with utility room and downstairs cloakroom with toilet leads into a large L-shaped open plan living area, with lots of comfy seating overlooking the rear garden. The vintage kitchen is well-equipped and has dining for 8 people. Due to the layout of the downstairs area, it means that there is plenty of space for everyone to relax without it being overcrowded. Upstairs there are 4 good-sized bedrooms, 2 of which enjoy sea views. The master bedroom, which has a great contemporary en-suite bathroom, is enormous and can sleep up to 4 people with its super kingsize bed and additional large sofa bed making this an ideal family room. Outside there is an enclosed garden with BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining or simply relaxing and breathing in that clean sea air.
The Dunes has an enviable location adjacent to the sandy dunes which lie to the north of St Annes, an area which is protected due to it being the habitat of some rare species of grasses and plants. The beach is popular with families, thanks to its gentle tides and golden sands and it is the perfect spot for building sandcastles or taking a traditional donkey ride. The beach has also become very popular with kite surfers.
The town of St Annes which is just 1 mile away, is a traditional Victorian seaside town with pier, bandstand, gardens and a good selection of shops and eateries. Livelier Lytham which attracts a more cosmopolitan crowd with its landmark windmill, championship golf courses and an excellent choice of bars, shops and restaurants, is just 4 miles away. Of course, no visit to the Fylde Coast would be complete without visiting Blackpool, which is just 5 miles away, with its many attractions, including the famous tower, Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Waterpark, Sealife centre, zoo and Madame Tussauds. There are buses from the main road into St Annes, Lytham and Blackpool which means you can leave the car safely parked at the house without having to worry about traffic and parking. There are so many events that take place in the area throughout the year, including Blackpool Illuminations, Lytham Proms, Kite Festival, golf tournaments, car rallies, vintage festivals and farmers markets making this a great destination all year round.
Other places worth visiting along the Fylde Coast include Morecambe, Thornton Cleveleys and Fleetwood with its Freeport outlet shopping mall. Thanks to its proximity to the M55 and connecting road networks, The Dunes is also a great touring base as there is a lot to see and do away from the coast within easy driving distance. With so much to see and do all year round, The Dunes is the ideal destinations for families and friends who like to be active. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
