The Lancaster Canal, a wildlife haven, runs through Carnforth and is a paradise for walking, cycling and pleasure cruising. There are many circular walks and in the summer, a waterbus service. Carnforth train station is a 6-minute walk, with a regular service to the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales and Lancaster. A supermarket and the village centre are a 3-minute walk away and the nearest pub a 2-minute walk. The nearest beach in Morecambe is a 10-minute drive, Kendal is 20 minutes and Windermere 30 minutes.
