Thirlmere connects to the south Lakes via a spectacular mountain pass, where you can enjoy the many opportunities that Grasmere, Windermere and Ambleside have to offer. An excellent central location for exploring the Lake District.

For good walking, fells nearby include High Street range, 1 mile, and Helvellyn, 10 miles. The market town of Penrith, 5 miles; whilst the attractions of Keswick are 14 miles. Bessyboot has everything for two that our discerning guests have come to expect from our quality self catering cottages, a well equipped kitchen, fully tiled wet room and comfy leather sofa strategically placed in front of the fireplace for you to snuggle around in the cooler months. The private terrace, with creative seating, is just the spot for taking in some more of that view and an aperitif before dining ’al fresco’ when our weather will allow.
