    Thompson Ground is a working hill farm in the heart of Lakeland, with panoramic country views. Beatrix Potter’s former home, Hill Top (NT), lies near Sawrey, whilst The Wordsworth Museum in nearby Grasmere, occupies Dove Cottage, which the poet William Wordsworth made his home between 1799 and 1808. There are also many NT properties in the vicinity, from the magnificent Levens Hall to the tiny Old Bridge House at Ambleside. The cottages are attractively furnished and fully equipped, with sealed window units, a storm porch and Tarn Cottage (ref NP57) is specially designed for use by visitors with some degree of physical handicap. Each has their own furnished patio area, and all have access to a front lawn, which is the ideal venue for children and adults to socialise and play.
