This cosy, detached farmhouse is set on one of the oldest established farms in Loweswater, surrounded by beautiful 360 degree views including over Potter Ghyll, Whiteside and Low Fells. Wildlife is abundant with falcons, nightingales and red squirrels. Many of North West Lakeland’s most popular summits are accessible from the doorstep. In addition to the great fell walking, the area is ideal for both cycling and climbing. Handy for the nearby beautiful, but frequently overlooked, Loweswater Lake which is nestled amongst a peaceful wooded valley (with Loweswater actually meaning leafy lake) where you can enjoy a circular lakeside walk or go rowing on traditional clinker built rowing boats. Shooting is allowed by request on the owner’s 400 acres, as is fishing on their stretch of the River Cocker. Crummock Water and Buttermere are also both nearby and the extensive Cumbrian coast is less than a 30-minute drive away. Loweswater remains relatively untouched by tourism, meaning it is a peaceful base yet only eight miles to both Cockermouth and Keswick.
