There are good opportunities nearby for horse riding, golf, sailing, canoeing, fishing, quad biking and clay pigeon shooting. Penrith is six miles to the north and has excellent shopping choices with supermarkets as well as an excellent local produce delicatessen, many arts and crafts shops, a cinema and a number of restaurants. There is a host of good pubs and restaurants close by. Within a mile are two village pubs serving food. Others nearby have gained reputations for quality food and service.
