There is a wealth of attractions to visit locally including the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway which chugs through 10½ miles of glorious countryside. Guests can tempt their palette with award-winning wines, ciders and juices at Biddenden Vineyards (Kent’s oldest commercial vineyards), 5 miles. Dubbed the most beautiful castle in the world, Leeds Castle is 6 miles; this fairytale, moated castle offers golf, a fine aviary and a maze. It also hosts summer concerts and a spectacular firework displays around November 5th. Canterbury is 18 miles away: visit the historical cathedral embellished with Bethersden ‘marble’, as well as abbey ruins, art galleries, museums, ancient city walls, and churches.
