Other places to visit include Port Lympne Zoo with its variety or animals including Siberian and Bengal tigers, small cats, monkeys, Malayan tapirs, Barbary lions and much more. The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway is also a popular attraction for a journey back in time on the steam locomotives. The beautiful old town of Rye is 12 miles away, with its cobbled streets, old buildings and lovely restaurants and shops. A little further afield, it is possible to take a day trip on the ferry from the port of Dover to France. Also worth a trip is the historic city of Canterbury with its incredible cathedral and city walls, where guided tours will help visitors absorb the history and beauty of the city by day, with evening ghost tours available for the more adventurous.
