It has a pontoon and small pond house where you can enjoy a picnic and watch the ducks and occasional kingfisher, whilst overlooking the beautiful willow tree and tranquil surroundings. With the New Forest on the doorstep, ponies and cows are frequent visitors.
There is a great country pub just a short walk away and the local village of Lyndhurst is close by, offering a wonderful selection of shops, bike hire, coffee shops and places to eat. The picturesque village of Brockenhurst is a 10-minute drive or bus journey away. The New Forest has endless walks, cycle paths and places to explore. If it’s a beach you’re looking for, there are beautiful sandy beaches and beach huts at Mudeford, just 20 minute’s away. Visit the sailing town of Lymington with its marina and ferry terminal to the Isle of Wight, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Winchester with its cathedral, Exbury Gardens and the riverside village of Buckler’s Hard. Further afield but well worth a trip is Monkey World and the Tank Museum near Wool. Marwell Zoo with Peppa Pig World, The Owl and Otter Park and nautical maritime history at Southampton, with retail shopping outlets, are also within easy reach. To the west, Stonehenge is within easy driving distance, and for further sightseeing opportunities, catch the train from Ashurst, 4 miles, to London and the south coast. Beach 15 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
