Find cottages in East Meon

East Meon is a picture postcard village beautifully positioned in the South Downs National Park. With ancient buildings and traditional thatched cottages, East Meon is a welcoming and relaxing destination for a cottage holiday in Hampshire.

The All Saints Church enjoys a prominent position in the village. It was completed in around 1150 with subsequent alterations in the Victorian era and again in the early 1900s by the then Sir Ninian Comper, the distinguished church architect.

Nearby the Queen Elizabeth Country Park is set in 1400 acres of woodland and downland, with plenty of trails to explore, whether you are on foot, cycling or on horseback. The play trails are also perfect for children.

The Butser Ancient Farm is a great family day out; it''s an open air archaeological museum that takes you back 2000 years to discover what life was really like. The site includes reconstructed Iron Age roundhouses and a Roman Villa.

A short drive away is the Mid Hants Watercress Line, a ten mile stretch of heritage railway running between New Alresford and Alton. Taking a trip on one of the steam locomotives provides a relaxing day out and is a great way to see the beautiful countryside. For more day-out ideas both Winchester and Portsmouth are easily accessible.

Cottages in East Meon provide a delightful setting to enjoy this beautiful part of the world.
