    The cottages make the perfect base for holidays at any time of the year. There are five acres of lovely gardens for you to enjoy and explore.     A few miles from Triscombe is Exmoor’s spectacular northern coast, the highest in Britain, where steep cliffs plunge into the sea. You can enjoy fantastic coastal walks here along the cliff top coastal path, with dramatic views of the coastline and out to sea. From Dunkery Beacon (1707ft) there are panoramic views to Wales, Dartmoor and beyond. Minehead is only 10 miles away with a beach, Butlins, harbour and fantastic steam railway. Historic Dunster (NT castle) is one of the prettiest villages on Exmoor. Porlock and Dulverton offer interesting shops and tea shops where you can enjoy a traditional Somerset cream tea. As well as a being a great holiday destination, Little Quarme Cottages is also a licensed wedding venue, where you and your party can hire the entire complex to celebrate that special occasion and is located just outside the village of Wheddon Cross, which has a pub serving food and a well-stocked shop. Venturing further on to Exmoor, Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor’s highest point, is a short drive or a good walk from the cottages. Other Exmoor highlights include Tarr Stepps, the river at Lanacre and the pretty village of Withypool. Further afield, the coastal town of Minehead had a good range of shops and other amenities. It is also home to the West Somerset Stream Railway for those wanting to indulge in a bit of nostalgia. The medieval village of Dunster is full of charm and has its imposing castle (NT) towering over the village centre. The seaside villages of Porlock and Porlock Weir are worth a visit, as are the Victorian towns of Lynton and Lynmouth with the famous cliff railway. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor.
