At Croyde and Woolacombe are some of the best surfing beaches in the country as well as many small coves and bays. Due to the layout and nature of the farm, the cottages are not suitable for children under 16 years of age. There is a decked area with each cottage where guests can sit out and enjoy the local surroundings. Each cottage comes with its own lockable store cupboard for bikes and surf boards and also has its own kennel area. The local village of Wheddon Cross is a short distance away and has a well-stocked local shop and a pub. Wheddon Cross is also the location for one of the most renowned displays of snowdrops in February each year. From the top gate of the farm, guests can walk up to the summit of Dunkery Beacon, where the views are far-reaching. During your stay, there is plenty to do and enjoy, with superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor where you will find points of interest such as Withypool, Lanacre and Tarr Steps. Exmoor is also nominated as a ’Dark Sky’ area, making it an excellent location to study the sky at night. Along the coast, there are the Victorian towns of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), Valley of the Rocks and funicular cliff railway. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to walk along whilst eating an ice cream, and the town also has a good array of shops and other amenities; you can also take a trip on the famous West Somerset Steam Railway.
