Situated on the Trout Fishery site, you may want to practice your fly fishing skills. The many deep, clear lakes are home to rainbow and brown trout (tackle and tuition can be arranged). For the children, there is a float fishing lake and tackle can be hired. Children will love the chickens, ducks and guinea fowl roaming in the farmyard, and they can feed the hens and collect the eggs every morning, and meet our friendly pot bellied pigs, miniature donkeys or the rabbits in bunny corner. Tavistock, 1 mile, has independent shops and lots of pubs and restaurants serving good home cooked food and real ales. Horse riding and golf can also be found locally. Following the River Avon upstream will take you over Shipley Bridge and up on the moors to the Avon Dam which is a wonderful scenic walk or you could take your bikes and cycle the route.
