Ida’s Cottage is the perfect choice for a relaxing family coastal holiday. This beautifully presented pretty cottage with its large hallway and high ceilings is tucked away in a quiet location beside the South West Coastal Path on the River Torridge and is just a short level walk to the delightful port town of Bideford with its pastel-coloured houses alongside a tree-lined quay. The cottage was once part of the ship building industry in Bideford, part of a larger building that was used to cut the wood for building many of the ships that sailed from the port. It was then put to residential use in 1925, but you still get a strong sense of its maritime history.

Take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island or explore many pretty fishing villages including nearby Clovelly, Instow and Appledore. The wide golden sandy beach of Westward Ho! popular with surfers, is just 2 miles. Walkers you can join the coastal path or why not cycle or walk the famous Tarka Trail which passes through Bideford. Just a short stroll from the quayside with its vast array of restaurants and shops, you could park up and enjoy a break from the driving. Golf, riding and fishing are available locally and for family fun, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure parks are close by. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
