Winscott Bushel (31258) is detached and built on stilts, and is ideal for couples looking for peace and quiet. It was formerly used for grain storage and milling, and retains much of its original charm and character with exposed beams. All in all, these are the perfect choice for family holidays, a well-earned retreat or a memorable romantic break.
    The owners’ 100-acre farmland with sheep, also has three fishing lakes suitable for family fishing with carp, tench, roach and rudd. Relax by one of the lakes, casting a line or simply contemplating the local wildlife. Try the traditional art of water divining or spend a fun afternoon clay pigeon shooting (weather permitting, by arrangement). For the children, there’s a large play area with swings, slide and ball games along with a challenging fun pitch and putt. Enjoy the delightful southerly views of the fishing lakes and fields to Dartmoor on the distant horizon. Winscott Barton Cottages are a haven for the wildlife enthusiast with badger, kingfishers, owls, rabbits and roe deer.
    The breathtaking North Devon Coast and its glorious beaches are just a few miles away, from the flat sands and spectacular surfing at Westward Ho! to the rocky cove at Bucks Mills. The area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the coastal path and the famous Tarka Trail which passes close by. There are numerous National Trust properties in the area including Arlington, Hartland Abbey, RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Docton Mill. For family fun The Big Sheep and Milky Way Adventure Parks are a must, or visit the famous cobbled streets of nearby Clovelly. The larger town of Bideford with its historic port and lively market and Lundy Island ferry and its array of shops and other amenities are just 2 miles away. The Atlantic Highway is easily accessible and provides a quick passage to the breathtaking North Devon and North Cornish coast. Beach 3 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 1 1/2 miles.
