Westward Ho!, also 5 miles, has a wide, sandy surfing beach, surf school and golf course. The larger town of Bideford, with its historic port and lively market, as well as the Lundy Island ferry and array of shops and other amenities, is 2 miles, and the Atlantic Highway is easily accessible, providing a quick passage to the breathtaking north Devon and north Cornish coasts.
    The area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the famous Tarka Trail which passes close by and there are numerous NT properties in the area, including Arlington, Hartland Abbey, RHS Garden Rosemoor and Docton Mill. Hartland Quay and lighthouse are well worth a visit, along with many other local beauty spots, including Bucks Mills and Clovelly. There really is something for everyone in this glorious location.
