For those with bikes the nearby Sustrans Route 54 links the High Peak Trail to the Tissington Trail, which as a former railway line is also perfect for walkers.
    Located midway between Ashbourne and Buxton the cottages are well placed for the host of major tourist attractions that the Peak District offers. The magnificent Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, beautiful village of Castleton, the Dove and Manifold Valleys, plus the attractive local towns of Buxton, Ashbourne, Bakewell and Matlock, can all be reached in under 30 minutes. Ashbourne has a good range of shops, while Buxton has superb architecture including the Opera House. Bakewell has a wonderful setting on the River Wye, and is of course home of the Bakewell Pudding. The former spa town of Matlock and the spectacular location of neighbouring Matlock Bath is the setting for a mining museum, cable car rides and show caves.
