Matlock

The former spa town of Matlock lies on the edge of the Peak District National Park by the River Derwent and has easy access to outdoor activities and visitor attractions.

Situated in the Derbyshire countryside the historic town of Matlock is renowned for its industrial heritage sites. The town lies alongside the River Derwent and just downriver of the town, enclosed by limestone cliffs, is the popular tourist destination of Matlock Bath.

Taking a cottage in and around Matlock provides the perfect base for exploring the many attractions in the area such as the Heights of Abraham, Gulliver''s Kingdom and Lea Gardens. For fun family days out, head to the Matlock Farm Park or Crich Tramway Village, a restored village that contains the Crich Tramway Museum, tram rides and woodland walks.

The surrounding countryside is the perfect place to catch your breath, while admiring the stunning views that surrounds you, and if you like your walks a little more challenging, then try the Matlock Bath circuit. This short circuit offers lots of interesting sights along the way as well as a few uphill climbs.
