There is a regular boat service running up and down the lake with stop offs for those wishing to walk part way. There are plenty of water sports available along with terrific walking and cycling. A drive along the lakeside runs over Kirkstone Pass and down into Windermere and Ambleside, a scenic drive not to be missed.
