Situated in a peaceful, rural location on the fringe of the Lake District National Park, these delightful holiday properties (refs 27273 and UKC64) have lots of character, comfort, charm and original features. Holly Lodge (27273) is a detached, spacious 18th-century country house. It is truly impressive and has been assessed as 4 Star Gold by VisitEngland. It has been furnished to a very good standard with a profusion of original features, which have been retained and restored. Traditional and contemporary art adds an interesting slant. The Coach House (UKC64) has been carefully renovated in to a lovely cottage. This semi-detached barn conversion is situated adjacent to Holly Lodge. While Holly Lodge was built in 1802, The Coach House was added later in 1861 by Isaac Ernest Hodgson, leaving his initials IEH indelibly marked in the brickwork, now a feature of the wall both inside and out. Both properties are ideal for parties of families or friends, or they can be booked together to accommodate a larger group of up to 14. The garden area is separate from the main house but can be enjoyed together. The arrangements can be flexible to suit the needs of guests. The open plan living room/kitchen is on the first floor to take advantage of the views across the Solway Firth, famous for its fantastic sunsets. Relax infront of the woodburner and take in the views from the large windows. The properties are set in substantial wooded gardens, with formal lawns, orchard and patio areas, the whole of which is enclosed and surrounded by countryside.
