To the east of the town is the historic city of Plymouth, with its National Marine Aquarium, theatres, cinemas, bowling and shopping, which can be reached from the historic village of Kingsand, right into Barbican, while to the west is Fowey, home to the royal sailing regatta and many galleries, shops and restaurants.     If you’re looking for adventure, take a stroll along north Cornwall’s breath-taking coastal paths, beaches and cliffs. For something more extreme, learn to surf at a surf school on Mawgan Porth Beach, or maybe try kite surfing at Watergate Bay, just two miles down the coast. If your food supplies are running low, pick up some holiday essentials at the convenience store in Mawgan Porth Village, or dine at Jamie Oliver’s ’Fifteen’ restaurant at Watergate Bay, or Rick Stein’s Seafood Café at Padstow.

    Cornwall has plenty of family attractions, and is also well-known for arts, culture, history, heritage, gardens, food, drink, film, TV and literature. Beaches in the local area, Watergate Bay, and the surf beaches of Newquay, lie within five miles along the coast road southwards, and the seven bays and beaches of St Merryn and Padstow are 10 miles to the north. Further afield, the beaches of Marazion, St Ives, Sennen, Kynance Cove, Falmouth, Perranporth and Porthcurno are among the top ten in the county (according to the Cornwall Guide). Even if the weather is poor, do what the locals do - wrap up warm, take a brisk walk in the wind, watch the waves crash on the rocks and let the Cornish sea air blow the cobwebs away!

    Other attractions including the educational Eden Project and Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm, are not far away. Cornwall is steeped in myths, legends and folklore, from ‘piskies’ and ’faeries’ to kings and castles. Cornwall’s 50-plus gardens all enjoy the warmth of the Gulf Stream, which means that many are home to rare tropical plants, flowers and trees.     It has often been said that Rosecraddoc Manor must be the nearest thing to paradise. The manor properties stand in 38 acres of beautiful grounds and woodlands, set around a lovely lake, stocked with carp, roach and bream. Rosecraddoc Manor features a variety of properties surrounding the historic Manor House to cater for all tastes whether classic, modern, cosy or cottage style is what you are looking for. The manor was built in the 1820s on the site of a much older house mentioned in the Domesday Book. It is Grade II listed, along with two bridges in the grounds, and has now been converted into these attractive apartments and villas, making a perfect base for your Cornish holiday.
    On site you can fish in the lake (bring own fishing licence, barbless hooks and landing nets must be used, please) or play tennis on the all weather court (smooth soled tennis shoes to be worn, not squash shoes; please bring your own racquets and tennis balls). If you can bear to leave this beautiful spot, just 2½ miles away in Liskeard there is a superb leisure complex, where you can enjoy squash, badminton, gym, indoor bowls and indoor leisure pools, which include a children’s pool and flume, as well as the main pool.
    Within 4 miles you can explore Bodmin Moor, where you can go riding, walking or even try water sports on Siblyback Lake - wind surfing, dinghy sailing and canoeing are available. To the south, lovely sandy beaches and pretty fishing harbours lie along the coast. Several excellent golf courses can also be found in the area; and the Eden Project is only 20 miles away.
    The Manor and the Coach House have been tastefully and sympathetically restored to please the most discerning guest. Some of the villas are suitable for guests with disabilities (CV44 is designed for the convenience of visitors with disabilities, as well as able-bodied visitors), and Riverside Villa boasts an American fridge freezer. Access to the front door of the Manor is by 3 stone steps. Whichever you choose you will find it immaculately clean, with freshly laundered linen and tea towels. Please bring your own towels. Cot linen is not supplied. Cornwall is well known for its mild climate, but at Rosecraddoc Manor, even if it is cold outside, your accommodation will be warm and welcoming. Jacuzzi and spa baths are available in some properties (please check prior to booking). There are several pubs locally, and a leisurely stroll to the foot of the drive and across the road leads to a licensed bar and restaurant. The Village Inn, serving a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, has an extensive menu including children’s meals. It also hosts a large TV screen, barbecues, patio area, pool room and children’s games, with live entertainment, quiz nights and karaoke held regularly during the high season.
