It is a short drive from Port Isaac, a pretty harbour village where the TV series Doc Martin is filmed. The famous seafaring town of Fowey, once the home of Daphne Du Maurier can also be reached by catching the regular ferry across the River Fowey. The abundance of vineyards, orchards and gardens in the region are a tribute to the mild climate, with the spectacular Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan within half an hours’ drive. Equidistant is the ancient fishing port of Mevagissey, its double harbour a colourful array of traditional vessels and pleasure craft. For those who can bear to tear themselves away from the coast, there are many wonderful attractions further inland - such as Bodmin Moor and the Slate Caverns near St. Neot. Plymouth 25 miles.
