Danescombe Woods is part of the National Trust Cotehele Estate, once a thriving copper mining area. The old ruins of tin mines from last century are scattered through the woodland scenery. The iconic tall chimney stacks can still be seen and Danescombe Cottage and sits below one of these towering above. Set off the beaten track, along a trail through the woods, this is a very tranquil place to cosy up in one of these delightful cottages and relax. For the adventurous, there are some wonderful woodland and riverside walks through to Cotehele House and Gardens.
