Fowey

Fowey has a beautiful picturesque location and a deep natural harbour that attracts boating and yachting enthusiasts; as well as holidaymakers.

The old town has narrow streets lined by Georgian and medieval building that tell the tale of Fowey’s maritime past and the lovely harbour area has an esplanade that showcases buildings of the Edwardian and Victorian eras. And of course all the modern attributes of a bustling coastal town are evident including independent shops, bistros, cafes and restaurants.

Choose from a number of outdoor activities here to really blow the cobwebs away, before you head back to your cosy cottage or to the pub for a well-deserved drink! You can spend the day sailing, kayaking, fishing, walking or cycling or maybe hire a boat for the day.

There are several golf courses in the area and Fowey itself has a host of museums and galleries; a cottage in Fowey is the perfect base to see some of the best attractions in Cornwall; a short drive will bring you to the world-famous Eden Project or visit Lanhydrock House and Gardens, considered one of the most beautiful National Trust properties in Cornwall. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are also within easy reach or simply relax on one of the many beautiful, local beaches.

For accommodation please see our selection of Fowey cottages.
