    The busy port and town of Falmouth is just a 5-minute drive away, with its prestigious marinas attracting some of the worlds leading racing yachts and ocean going vessels. The port of Falmouth is the third deepest natural harbour in the world. The town has an excellent reputation for great food with a wide choice of restaurants, bistros, tea rooms, cafés and pubs. Events Square is the home of the National Maritime Museum with a fantastic diary of events throughout the year including, food, music festivals, prestigious international sailing events, the lively Sea Shanty festival, Oyster Festival and Falmouth Week, to mention just a few. The area offers water taxis, which is a small ferry service to St Mawes, Flushing or take one of the local boats to explore the beautiful Helford River and creeks. Take a thrilling Sea Safari to watch dolphins, basking sharks, seals and much more. Relax on one of the many, local, stunning sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, where kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving and surfing are all available locally. There is miles of coastal paths to explore, as well as subtropical gardens including beautiful Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick. Falmouth also has a multi screen cinema, theatre, bowling and golf course. Cycle hire is available, with a number of old tram line cycle trails, running from the south across to the north coast.

    National Trust properties and Pendennis Castle with its twin, St. Mawes Castle, both of which are English Heritage properties, are open daily with a great list of events throughout the season, including jousting and battle re-enactments. Both castles were built by Henry VIII to protect the important waterways of the Fal Estuary and Carrick Roads.
    Take the train in to the cathedral city of Truro to experience great shops, cinema and theatre, as well as a great selection of restaurants and pubs. The area is perfect for exploring south Cornwall and within easy reach of the rugged North Coast and The Lizard Peninsula. Gweek Seal sanctuary and Flambards Theme Park is just a 20-minute drive away. Beach ½ mile. Shop 1 mile, pub 3 miles and restaurant ½ mile.
