Wonderful house, really beautiful (and well sized) gardens with pleasant views. It is rather out of the way, which is fine but best to be aware of that - don't expect a shop or pub nearby that you can walk to. Very well equipped and clean, though the upstairs shower cut out and then stopped working altogether - otherwise a 10 and would definitely return.

This cottage is superb, a welcome gift of wine and milk in the fridge, great views and a very well appointed cottage. This is our 2nd time there and we've found it even better. The Derby Arms nearby is lovely for a meal and very friendly. The scenery around is great with loads of walks and running routes for the more active person. Poo Sticks at the duck pond down the road was a great hit for my granddaughter. This is a very peaceful part of The Lake District especially at peak holiday times, but it's so easy to get around from the cottage.

The cottage was very spacious and very comfortable. It also has a beautiful garden. The location was tranquil and we particularly enjoyed seeing the local farm animals on our dog walks around the area - two very friendly sheep on the path who approached our dog! Great area for dog owners as most places accepted dogs - pub/restaurants, cafes, Windermere cruise boat, Ravenglass steam train, even some shops etc. She came with us everywhere all week.
