A beautiful cottage, in a peaceful & private location with lovely walks on the doorstep. Coal fires in the evenings made it a most cosy place for the family between christmas and new year, we had a wonderful break and would love to return in the future.

Two weeks of a super holiday!!! We had two very lovely, splendid relaxing weeks in this very comfortabele cottage on a beautiful locaton. We just loved the complete silence and peacefulness at this hide far away from noise, traffic and hectic. From the cottage you can make walks into the woods, through the fields, on the hill and enjoy nature, grazing sheep and cows, birds in the skye and the overwelming far views towards the hills and into the dales whilst you are surrounded by the silence and peacefullness of the area. Also the national footpath the Dales Way is not to far away. The farmshop and the villages Kendal and Grange over Sands are all quitte near by for shopping.

It's the best cottage we have ever stayed in. Lovely location, so quiet and good walks from the door. Well equipped, clean and much bigger than it looks. The dog loved it too, especially making friends over the wall with the very friendly horses. The previous reviewer giving it only one point reflects more on their ability to control their dogs than any problem with the cottage itself. We had no problem with ours or with neighbours, in fact they had a big box of tennis balls at the gate and invited dogs to help themselves. It's really worth exploring this area if you've, like us, always gone for the northern area. Will definatly return.

The garden was not secure and it was not very private. The neighbour complained about my dogs.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback however we are disappointed with the low score you have given in comparison with our other and usual high scores. In our advertisement it states that Yew Tree Cottage and surrounds only accommodates 2 dogs maximum. In this case we allowed 3 dogs, against our better judgement, as we believed for whatever reason they were small dogs. We were trying to be accommodating. We also had a complaint from the neighbour as supposedly the dogs barked at 6am in the morning which we feel is unacceptable. Our neighbour has never complained before. In light of this we will stick to the maximum of 2 dogs in future.
