English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

There are so many outdoor activities surrounding this property that you will be spoiled for choice; it’s perfect for a peaceful break.

Yeo Farm is a small country estate nestling in the picturesque hamlet of Waterrow on the Somerset/ Devon border at the foot of the Brendon Hills. Walkers and dog owners are welcome at these adult only farm cottages and a dog welcome pack is provided! Comprising some 40 acres of woodland, pasture, ponds and the River Tone, the farm also has fishing rights for over half a mile, and a riverside walk has been made to enjoy the natural flora and fauna present in this area. The 16th-century farmhouse has been restored and is the home of the resident owners, whilst the cottages (Refs ERE, ERF, and ERG) have been sympathetically converted from former farm buildings and comprise three adjoining character cottages which enjoy wonderful views over the estate. The cottages have been renovated and refurbished to a high standard, and offer all modern conveniences and comfort in this stunning setting.
Yeo Farm provides an excellent base for countryside pursuits and walking, with the Brendons, Quantocks and Blackdown Hills nearby. On the doorstep is the Exmoor National Park which has been designated the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe (telescope on request). Horses are welcome. Many historic houses and gardens in the vicinity. Coast 13 miles. There is coarse, fly and sea fishing available; golf 4 miles; hard tennis courts and outdoor swimming pool 1½ miles; clay and game shooting by arrangement. Shops 1½ miles, local gastro pub 1 mile.

Large living/dining room/kitchen with French doors to courtyard. Double bedroom with walk-in closet and en-suite shower room and toilet (can also be accessed from hall).

Welcome pack should consist of milk and other basic requirements. Heating was only switched on twice a day for short periods. This was not mentioned when booking.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments; We are always happy to put the heating on for longer periods - we live 20 yards from the property and try very hard to be helpful and responsive but at no point during your stay did you make any mention of this. The heating is on twice a day from 7.30-11.00 and from 3pm until 10pm. A cream tea is provided on arrival and treats/towels for your dog as well as tea bags and sugar. We do not provide any other form of welcome pack. It is very disappointing to get a review like this when all you had to do was ask.

Beautiful location and the facilities were excellent. Hosts were marvellous and the scones were a lovely touch after a long drive. Grounds were beautiful and what a restful holiday. Thanks to Harvey the dog for his warm welcome too.

Had a great week at yeo farm [the stables cottage ] in Wiveliscombe somerset, it was a superb cottage clean, very comfortable, everything was well catered for, plenty of parking space, table& chairs outside overlooking the magnificient scenery. On arrival we were met by Claire, Callum & Harvey the lovely black Lab. We had a delicious cream tea on arrival which was much appreciated. The information leaflets & customer review book was very helpful. We had an excellent lunch at The Rock though as informed it wasd a bit pricey, great Sunday lunch at The Bear in Wiveliscombe. Plenty to see in the area we enjoyed our visit to Dunster Castle also to Lynmouth great fish & chips only a small village. Stan & Cindy Berry Liverpool
