Located in the secluded hamlet of Littlebeck, within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, these prestigious detached holiday properties are set in 6 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, home to an abundance of wildlife. Outside of the hamlet, the steep winding roads and hills open onto the moorland where breath taking scenery can be enjoyed from the many bridle and cycle tracks. Really enjoyed our week at The Woodlands. A very relaxing holiday. The place is very comfortable and it is a nature lovers paradise. We saw 24 different species of birds in the garden. A wonderful place to stay.

We are not in the first flush of youth and found the local roads very, very steep and narrow which limited our enthusiasm for going out. This, together with the fact that the driveway was very near vertical leads us to suggest it is a location for the younger element! We were offered another way in and out before we realised how terribly steep was the one for the property. Later we should have admitted our anxiety and asked where the alternative parking was but we did not want to make a fuss. We had hoped the '3 acres' mentioned in the blurb would afford some easy walking but if it does exist it was not obvious where to go. Wandering in the beautiful gardens did seem like an invasion of the privacy of the owners and other guests. It would have helped if this had been explained. Our hosts were very welcoming, and apart from a smelly shower drain the cottage was fortunately very comfortable (we spent more time there than intended) and the garden beautiful. Excellent accommodation for the right people. The fault was ours not theirs.

Woodlands is set in a fabulous location, and makes an excellent retreat for a couple. Although there are other holiday lets nearby they do not encroach upon the privacy of Woodlands. The cottage was comfortable, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean. The owners were friendly, and the comfort of their guests was the main priority. We will certainly be back next year.

Woodlands is situated beautiful wooded valley, and is full of delightful wildlife and the gentle murmur of the little beck that runs through the site. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome, and were on hand to help if we needed them. The cottage was well kept and very comfortable with everything on hand that we needed. We came at the end of the season and really enjoyed the natural surrounds which must look stunning in spring or summer. Saddened to leave.
