Loved the cottage and it was a lovely secure big garden for the dogs. Walks just over the road. Great butchers down the road and Ayr 15 minutes away. Local villages scattered around near by for shops and resturants. A bus route on door step. It ticked all my boxes

Great cottage had everything we needed plenty of wood for the fire, broadband as there is no mobile signal ,everything you need in the kitchen, nice walks on your doorstep , shame pub across the road is shut but pub a couple of miles away by car or walk through the woods along the rive r. Heating was great to keep you warm plus the fire once it got the room warm very snug and cosy weather was great ! so plenty of places to visit castles parks lochs etc... nice to have a btl of wine as a welcome gift, one of the best we have stayed at for chilling out .

The cottages heating never felt adequately warm until the log burner was going, then, the main room was warm & cosy. The bed was comfortable and warm however the double glazing had little effect on the road noise. The cottage could have been cleaner. Mouldy cream in the fridge and cobwebs as well as some things in need of fixing, gave it a feel of being less than adequately looked after. Good location. Easy access to major shopping amenities and the coast along with other attractions. Lovely picturesque walks ,short or long, just across the road and, when the night sky was clear, a beautiful starry sky to admire.

Woodbine cottage is a very spacious and well equipped cottage with a lovely garden area which is secure for your dog. We had everything we needed and enjoyed the walk along the river Ayr. A trip to Arran is a must and within easy reach.

The reason we would not stay there again is because the village has no amenities apart from one pub.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I was sorry to see that you did not enjoy your holiday at Woodbine Cottage but also surprised as you left a positive comment in our visitor’s book and did not contact me during your stay. We pride ourselves on providing an excellent service to holidaymakers; we have received a Gold Award from Cottages 4 You which is given when reviews are consistently above 9 for a year or more. I am shocked to see that you have given such low scores especially for comfort, equipment and cleanliness. Other users gave an average score of 9.1. As for the location of the cottage, Cottages 4 You give a very accurate description of Failford on their website, clearly stating the "pub and restaurant is 100 yards and shop 3 miles". I regret you had a disappointing holiday but I am pleased our other guests give more accurate and considered comments on our property and the efforts made by myself to ensure they enjoy their holiday.
