We loved our stay at wood cottage! The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed to cook etc, and we definitely appreciated the well apportioned living room and dining room. It was definitely as advertised, and we loved how clean the house was and how homely our stay felt! If you're visiting the Peak District for the first time, the cottage was certainly perfectly located for visiting local points of interest such as Chatsworth house and the idyllic town of buxton. The entire booking process was smooth and the hosts were always on hand with directions when we got a bit lost on the way over. Overall it was a veritable delight to get to spend a weekend with friends in wood cottage and would definitely book it again!

Response on behalf of the Owner; Great detailed feedback, thank you. We love to hear when people enjoy their stay and what they did whilst there. It’s great for future guests to be able to see stories and descriptions. It’s also good for them to see the cottage is as advertised and always clean. We look forward to seeing you again.

Had an excellent time at Wood Cottage. Cottage was comfortable, spacious, modern (but with period charm) and very well equipped. Proved a great base for exploring the High Peak, and was very convenient.

The cottage was a surprise as the description although accurate was much bigger than we expected, no problem the children had lots of space and thoroughly enjoyed the Jacuzzi bath at the end of the day. Good location for getting to lots of places easily. Canal, and river easy to access with buggies, a nice stop was the pub and coffee and shops at Whaley bridge a pleasant walk along the canal. Climbing and walking were within an easy distance to get to. The one slight downfall was the view of the works but we had a lovely holiday.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We’re really glad you enjoyed your stay and that the cottage and the area generally exceeded your expectations. With respect to the ‘view of the works’, this is stored items next to a light industrial unit, which we would like to clarify can only be seen from the rear upper floor windows, if you look directly downwards. As you say, it’s a great place and area for kids and the easy access for buggies for local walks and to get some local refreshments.

The house is a lovely place to stay. Has lots of room inside and a lovely welcome pack when we arrived. The garden was smaller than I thought and the view over the back can't be helped but we really enjoyed the house.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. Hopefully the photos of the garden don’t misrepresent it. We have had all the foliage cut back since your stay which has created a more open feeling.

A good house for a large gathering. There are lots of different areas so you can always find a quiet spot if needed. It's a good workout with 2 flights of stairs. It was a shame that the we didn't need to light a fire because the weather was mild and the house was very warm. The view is a little disappointing but there are other aspects which make up for it. The master bedroom is lovely and with the super king bed it makes it even better.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and the house. It is a spacious cottage, but the reality is it’s on the side of a hill and spread over three floors. We can also assure you that the wood burner is excellent when required!

Wood Cottage is spacious and was a good place to stay for a couple of days R&R. Local pubs/restaurants not great but we spent most of our time walking and entertaining ourselves so that didn't really matter. Found the Bugsworth canal basin fascinating

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your positive response and we’re glad you enjoyed the basin. We acknowledge the nearest pub is a local drinker’s establishment and are happy to provide advice on alternatives, some of which are within the welcome pack.
