Central location for most places we wanted to visit with good places to eat a short drive away.

We stayed for 1 week in August. Loved the quiet location. Generally it was a huge relief NOT to have wifi. Beautiful view from one of the bedrooms. Warm and cosy. Tastefully furnished. Gillian and her husband were very helpful. It was really dog friendly: we took our dog and it was perfect. Would definitely stay again.

Cottage, actually called 'Himmel', is one of group of 4 in very nicely converted farm buildings near Derwent Reservoir. Area beautiful, although no real view from Himmel unfortunately. Nice open area provided for kids to play. Tenant farmer very friendly. No wifi ( so no internet research) and no guest book so no advice from former residents.

We had a wonderful weekend in the hemmel cottage. It's location is beautiful and very peaceful. Gill was a wonderful owner who gave us lots of good tips and suggestions for places to visit.

The holiday accommodation was lovely and in a beautiful setting overlooking the Derwent Reservoir and a few minutes drive from Blanchland and Edmundbyers. The accommodation itself was well equipped and the care takers are lovely and very helpful. The lady in particular was great with our children, taking our little girl aged three to play with the puppies and help feed the horses. The fenced in grass area was great for our wee ones, as was the enclosed courtyard. We would definitely stay again.

Fabulous cottage in a lovely location. Be aware no phone signal in the cottage which for us was bliss. Only negative was that the doors have gaps when shut so compromised privacy when in shower etc and with the lights on so let's in light too. But don't let this put you off.
