Description

A large family-size home with direct access to the River Avon, from where fishing can be enjoyed (in season).

Peaceful, riverside setting

A very spacious, comfortable and well furnished house in a tranquil setting with a relaxing outlook over the River Avon. In season, keen anglers can try coarse fishing from a platform partially over the river at the bottom of the garden. Here, ducks venture from the river into the garden, and occasional boats, and swans with their young, can be seen on the water. There is a good sized lawn and ample parking space at the front of the property, and is ideal for couples, family and friends. The patio runs the full length at the rear of the holiday property and the garden bank leads to the riverside footpath, which goes to the centre of Stratford (about 2 miles), with its churches, historic buildings, theatres, restaurants, shops and sports centre. Stratford racecourse is 1/2 mile from the house. Nearby is the Vale of Evesham and the Cotswolds with their delightful towns and villages, and Warwick with its magnificent castle and racecourse. Birmingham and Coventry are an easy drive away, as are the Malvern Hills. Anne Hathaway’s cottage at Shottery 1 mile. Shop ¾ mile, post office and pub, 1 mile.

All of us aged from 5 to 58 had a lovely time. The property had everything and we had a lovely time relaxing and playing in the garden and waving to the people on the boats going by on the river at the bottom of the garden. Very handy for all the amenities. Yes we would highly recommend Willow Reach!

Beautiful house ,extremely well stocked. Peaceful location by the river, very relaxing. Directions very clear and owners very quick off the mark when we found a wasp's nest in the eaves. I would recommend Willow Reach.

Good location, right on the river bank, with very pleasant walk into Stratford. The house is spacious and well equipped. However, for the price of the rental the furnishings could have been a lot better and money needs to be spent on the house. The bathrooms were around 30-40 years old and the upstairs shower leaked into the dining room. It seemed like somebody had inherited granny's house and started renting it out.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; As Owners, we are always happy to receive comments and feedback and would attend to any deficiencies if they should ever be mentioned. We are surprised about the comments regarding furnishings and décor as the pictures on the website clearly show this for all the rooms. We think that, while not ultra-modern, they are in keeping with the age and design of the house. We are also surprised at the low mark given for cleaning. We did see the property after the previous guests left. It was left well. The cleaners serviced Willow Reach as usual before this guests party arrived. The cleaners have been preparing the house regularly for years and are very thorough, as is indicated by the other reviews we have had. We also check after cleaning every few weeks and have never found fault with the work they have done. When guests arrive we normally ring them to make sure they are happy and we try to deal with any problems that might arise during their stay if we are told about them. Had there been a complaint about cleanliness we would have dealt with it immediately and had defects remedied. The leak in the bathroom has occurred very occasionally in the past but we and our plumbers have never been able to find out why it occurs. It will be looked at again.

House was lovely-very spacious with everything we needed. Garden was great-fantastic views with the river at the bottom. The walk into Stratford was a little longer than we thought but quite easy via the road rather than river path. A lovely relaxing week and would go again.

The house really suited our enlarged family gathering. The house had all sorts of equipment which, if we had known in advance, may well have helped.Lovely peaceful setting with plenty of room. The 3 bathrooms was also really helpful for our 3 sections of the family.

The house is well appointed and comfortable and in a beautiful location. The owner was very helpful. Shopping and other facilities are located not far away. We did a lot of walking and cycling (there is bike hire about a mile away) and enjoyed all the lovely villages in the area.

An excellent and roomy location in a very good setting. Initial impressions are of a time worn old fashioned bungalow with dated furnishings but in reality it is very well equipped and comfortable and soon won us over and really did provide an ideal family location for Christmas. We were blessed with fantastic weather and the view from all the rear rooms was stunning, the swans and geese providing endless entertainment. We will be back!
