Description

Spacious cottage close to golf club, Whitstable with its Oyster Festival is close by and Herne Bay is easily reached.

This semi-detached holiday property, with a mock Tudor frontage, is a short stroll from the local golf club and is ideally placed for exploring the north Kent coast. Whitstable is famous for its sunsets and oysters, which are celebrated every July at the Oyster Festival. The harbour is a hive of activity and you can purchase freshly caught fish. Hire bikes locally and cycle the Crab and Winkle Way. Herne Bay awaits on its 2 mile stretch of coastline or visit the 12th century Reculver Towers and Roman Fort. Canterbury is a city steeped in history but with a modern side too with excellent retail facilities, it also has the oldest cathedral in England. We absolutely loved this cottage. It was really well placed for visiting our family and Gus (dog) loved walking to Swalecliffe and across the golf course. The cottage is more spacious than you think and allowed us to have daughter, partner and girls for a "Christmas" together. A minor point - the water pressure is not so powerful so coping with lots of hair (mine) was tough on the system. We will be back in 2018!

The cottage was very well appointed and cosy as central heating was very efficient (November ). Had all we needed and was well sited for easy walking/visiting places of interest/shops and walking to a pub in the evening. Rooms spacious (sleeping for 3 in the one bedroom), bathroom had bath and shower cubicle as well as loo and basin. The only thing lacking was a shaver point in the bathroom. Downstairs cloakroom too. Lots of reading material and some DVDs. Kitchen had plenty of white goods including fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave (we brought our own coffee machine). Good airing cupboard for drying wet outdoor wear too. Internet access could have been better but if you want to get away from this - you'll be fine!

Cottage was spacious for the 2 of us and the dog. Just a couple of things I would change firstly the mattress was not to our personal liking possibly needs renewing as uncomfortable, and the doors kept getting stuck so change the fittings on door handles? Otherwise it was a lovely place and area to be.
