White House Farm Holiday Cottages, (refs UKC150, UKC151 and UKC1627), lie just 2 miles from the seaside village of Mundesley, with its wonderful quiet, sandy beach and less than 15 miles from the Norfolk Broads. Nestled in the stunning countryside, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these cottages have been comfortably furnished and equipped to provide home from home holiday accommodation, making a perfect choice at any time of year. They stand in the owner’s grounds, boasting their own privacy and enclosed gardens (the garden of Flint Barn, UKC1627, is fenced by stock wire to contain dogs). There is excellent walking and cycling opportunities, direct from the door. A network of quiet lanes surround the area and there are many footpaths and trails nearby. Knapton is a quiet, rural village, just a few minutes’ drive from the sandy beaches of Mundesley, Trimmingham and Sidestrand. The delightful beach at Trimingham is just 6 minutes drive away with the spectacular beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the Sea also nearby. The charming coastal town of Mundesley is just a short drive with Happisburgh and Sheringham also within easy reach. A visit to the quintessential seaside town of Cromer is a must do, topped off with fish and chips from the legendary Mary Janes! The town is 7 miles away, with a sandy beach, promenade, pier, RNLI working lifeboat station, museum, zoo park, golf course and the town centre with shops, cafés and restaurants. Award-winning Gunton Arms, set in a one thousand acre deer park and the locally acclaimed Vernon Arms are both a short drive as are day boats on the Norfolk Broads. Dog walkers will welcome the close proximity of Bacton Woods, 280 acres of woodland just 15 minutes by car, with its three waymarked walks to leisurely seek out the 200-year-old trees. The bustling market town of North Walsham is 4 miles and offers shops, supermarkets and a train station with a service to Norwich city. The cathedral city of Norwich is 19 miles and offers excellent shops with two indoor shopping malls, theatre, castle museum, cathedral, market square, cafés and fine restaurants. Wroxham, the capital of the Norfolk Broads is 14 miles for daily boat hire and river trips, waterside restaurants, cafés and shops. There is a village shop and pub in Trunch, 1 mile away and two pubs in Mundesley, approximately 2 miles away. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.
The Granary (UKC150), Wallages Cottage (UKC151) and Flint Barn (UKC1627) can be booked together to accommodate up to 14 guests.

    Our first impression of the cottage was good, however, a previous visitor had had a mishap and the smell of dogs was over powering. We traced the smell to a rug which was wet and stank so we threw it out the door which helped. However, the lounge carpet was in dire need of cleaning. The lounge furniture was not comfortable nor were the dining chairs. However, the kitchen was good - efficient boiler, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, etc. Supplies were there for washing up, etc and tea, coffee, milk, sugar plus a bottle of wine and a pack of biscuits. The cloakroom was lovely as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable except that it creaked every time you moved! The patio area would be lovely in the summer and also the extended garden to take the dogs. However, this was not dog proof.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we are so very sorry about the rug, the cleaning company should have picked this up and dealt with it immediately, we have had the carpet cleaned and installed a new rug. The feedback we have received from almost all our guests has been very good in terms of the furnishings and the comfort provided in this cottage. We were pleased that you felt the kitchen and bathrooms were good and that you found the bed comfortable, we have installed hotel line sculpture mattresses for extra comfort of our guests. In regards to the patio and garden areas, we purpose built extra large patios with enclosed fencing dog proof and child proof for the exclusive use of the cottage guests, we have,however, granted access to the grassed area behind the cottages as an extra play area, this is fenced in on 3 sides by stock fencing and by hedging to the top, I advise all guests of this when they arrive.

    This cottage was clean and comfy with lovely outside space. Well placed for visits to coast, culture and some lovely walks from the door. The Park and Ride from Norwich airport into the city was brilliant, no hassle trying to find parking in the city centre. Would visit again.

    The cottage is in a beautiful setting. The owner is just next door and she was lovely. Very accommodating and friendly. Our dog particularly loved it. Locally there are some great walks. Cromer, Sheringham, Bacton & Mundsley beaches are less than 10 minutes drive away. Highly recommended.

    Lovely cottage. Very well equipped and clean. Location excellent for beach and other attractions. Plentiful parking wherever we visited. Owner was very welcoming and attentive.

    Lovely place, lovely hosts. Big garden shared with other cottage, ideal for family to play. Beach about 2 1/2 miles away - couldn't be better for us.

    Nice property in good condition. Owner was friendly and helpful. Welcome pack was a nice touch! We had a very enjoyable time in a lovely part of the world. Only real negative, as I find in a lot of these type properties, was that some of the kitchen equipment, mainly knives, utensils and frying pans were of poor quality. Also not many electric sockets upstairs, take a couple of 4 gangs! Would def go back!
