Lovely cosy, warm and quirky cottage. The layout was perfect for our 3 generations with two separate staircases so we all had our own areas. Had everything we needed and was very warm. Pub next door was fabulous, friendly, good food and quiet. Beware though that it is closed on a Monday. Lots to see and do close by including Framlingham Castle EH, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness boating lake to name a few. Would definitely return if visiting this area again.

Beautiful village, surroundings and ideal location gives this cottage great potential. Bedrooms comfortable and clean, although both upstairs bedrooms are accessed via completely different staircases which may not suit families with young children. Unfortunately, downstairs was not in any way to be deemed "clean" upon our arrival : Two strips of fly paper thick with dead flies - with several dead insects under dining table. Some Shelves covered in dust and cluttered. Cobwebs on curtain poles, in corners of kitchen / at windows and also in kitchen cupboards were dinner plates and cups were kept. Toilet was also not clean when we got there. On arrival, owner didnt really speak to us - not very welcoming after a very long day travelling. Re: cottage facilities : Living room - quite small and cramped, not much light reaches it either though settees are comfortable Garden - Quite big at front, but not enclosed - also very "unstructured" and a bit overgrown which means limited space / open area for children to play. At back, very small, untended concrete space which has nowhere to sit and whilst nice outlook, field is private property. Conservatory - Not in photos on website but it is there - however, shared with the owner who uses it - therefore we didnt use it at all Summer House - Small, more of a storage space for garden furniture and BBQ, all of which were covered thickly in cobwebs, thus, did not use any of these. Looks like no-one has used for some time. Would not return - its a great location and so much potential but needs a really good deep clean.

Excellent country village cottage with generous and warm welcome from the owner . Cratfield has a very pleasant charm and character ..... the local walks around the village are all worth exploring as are the adjoining villages .. The Cratfield Poacher public house next door also good for local contact and warm welcome .. Food available for take away .. Whipple Tree Cottage Ideally placed for exploring the central Suffolk coastline as well as the towns of Framlingham Harleston Halesworth
