Description

Warwick Castle is just minutes away from this Grade II listed cottage, with beams, ancient timbers and secluded garden.

This delightful Grade II listed cottage is situated just a few minutes’ walk from the magnificent castle, within the heart of historic Warwick. Dating back to the 1500s, the cottage has been carefully modernised to retain its period character with ancient timbers, and even original pick axe marks still visible in the stone walls of the cellar. Tastefully furnished and well equipped, this idyllic, cosy, holiday hideaway is only a short stroll from a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Although adjoining another property, the cottage has its own secluded, pretty garden in which to relax after a busy day’s sightseeing in Stratford (10 minutes), Leamington Spa or Kenilworth. Shops 100 yards, pubs within 1 mile.

Eight steps to entrance. Charming beamed living room with sofa-bed (for +1). Spacious beamed fitted kitchen with Belfast sink. Two steps leading to dining room/conservatory with door to garden. Steep, narrow steps to cellar. First floor: Attractive double bedroom with TV, brass and iron bedstead (child’s airbed available on request, alternative sleeping only). Ideal location to walk out. Was able to park right outside with no issues. Great little cottage and very close to the Castle. We will be back.

The cottage is extremely well located, being within easy walking distance of Warwick town centre with its wealth of attractions and amenities. We particularly enjoyed visiting the castle and also Lord Leycester hospital, which is within sight of the cottage. Boating on the Avon can also be recommended, as can the local bakery and butcher's shop. Further afield, Stratford is a pleasant cycle along a National Cycle Network route, while Birmingham can easily be accessed by train. All in all, we found lots to do, with the cottage being an excellent base from which to roam.

Westgate Cottage is very clean, comfortable and cosy. The cottage is small, but well laid out, with the bonus of a very nice secluded little garden. It is perfect for a couple and has everything you need, along with nice welcoming touches (tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and fresh flowers) provided by its very friendly owner. It is perfectly situated just a few minutes walk from the castle and all the amenities in Warwick. All in all, highly recommended.

Brilliant. Great cottage and suited our needs exactly. We were visiting parents/in laws in Warwick but they did not have space for us to stay with them. Cottage is right in the centre of Warwick with an allocated parking space or permit if a bit tight right outside. Great micro brewery Bar just across the road, loads of takeaways and restaurants. Slept well in the upstairs bedroom and relaxed on the sofa during the day while my wife visited her mum and dad, yes I am that lazy. Highly recommended for 2 people accommodation in Warwick.

Fabulous it was so central to all amenities restaurants museum castle shops etc etc. I travelled by train to Warwick for my holiday and found the public transport to nearby towns ie: Leamington Spa & Stratford upon Avon very accessible/frequent. Many Thanks for a great break.

This cottage is situated within the prime location of Warwick. I rented this cottage for a week, as was attending a family members wedding, which was nearby. It was an absolute pleasure to stay in this one bedroom cottage, it was full of charm, character and most importantly it was relaxing and comfortable. It contains everything needed for your stay, with the important element of freedom, to explore and experience this lovely part of England. So if you are looking at this cottage on the internet, don't delay. Just book it now, because you will not be disappointed.

A lovely cottage, beautifully appointed with all the necessaries and extra. Only downside is busy road, but you can't hear that once inside and the road is wide. Recommend Chinese take-away, down the road on opposite side to cottage.

Fantastic, beautiful quaint cottage....right in the heart of Warwick! pre communication was excellent, the host also left me a couple of items to help me while I stayed there. Parking was organised with the neighbours, so they knew not to use my space. I absolutely loved it, will definitely stay there again!
