This cottage was so warm and welcoming when we arrived in the cold and dark - there were candles in lanterns and lights left on inside so that we could find our way. Everything has been thought about, from the well-equipped kitchen to the plentiful pillows. The shower is nice and powerful which was so nice. There are beautiful laminate wooden floors downstairs, a downstairs toilet and two cosy bedrooms and family bathroom upstairs. There is off-road parking. Lesley, the cottage owner is so friendly and helpful. It was such a treat to have a bottle of wine and chocolates left for us too. The local pub is comfortable although you are a very short drive from other good pubs - the Sun Inn in Pickering for real ale and the Fox and Hounds in Sinnington for food. The cottage is ideally located for short trips to Helmsley, Pickering, Malton and other great local towns. Cropton forest is also just down the road. We couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend away, very Wintry and Christmassy - perfect.

A delightful cottage in a great location to access the North Yorkshire Moors. If you are looking for a restful break in a cottage decorated and cared for to a very high standard,Westwood Cottage would definitely be worth considering. Our expectations were exceeded and it was without doubt a place that we felt we could relax in.

Very well equipped but rather small and enclosed for us and missed having a garden. Also people renting attached property - I believe long term - very noisy and inconsiderate keeping us awake till early hours - on one occasion though thankfully. Nonetheless we enjoyed our week and owner extremely helpful when needed.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; As I remarked at the end of your visit, I am so disappointed that you had a disturbed nights sleep, on one occasion, as a result of noisy guests in the next door cottage who disturbed the normal peace and tranquility of the residence. Fortunately, the guests were only staying for a few nights and have now left. Many thanks for your other positive comments.

Had such a lovely stay here. Cottage was the perfect size and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves while the pub next door also served nice food. Was a great location for exploring. Would recommend to anyone!
