The beautiful, single-storey holiday apartment (ref W43295) is furnished to a high standard with French doors leading to a pretty private garden with wonderful views. Adjoining the owners’ home, it benefits from a private entrance. The appealing, single-storey, detached cottage (ref W8661) has a welcoming woodburner and large French windows enabling guests to enjoy the lovely views across the surrounding countryside. The properties are located just 3½ miles from Windermere across the lake ferry, a centre for watersports and climbing enthusiasts. For the less adventurous visitor, Windermere offers a multitude of charming shops, pubs and restaurants. Just over 2 miles from Hawkshead, Tarn Hows 3 miles, Grizedale Forest 3½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room with French doors/dining room/kitchen. 1 double (5ft) bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

    When we arrived at 7pm, no one was expecting us, and the guest house was all shut up. The cottage wasn't ready for us and we had to wait about half an hour for it to be cleaned. However, once we got in, it was lovely, really well equipped and nice and cosy, especially with the log burning stove. Reasonable location for accessing most of the Lakes, and a lovely secluded feel. Would stay again, despite the initial hiccup.

    Amazing little cottage, good size, gorgeous views out of the french windows, decorated with taste and very well equipped - no expense was avoided to make this cottage the comfortable love nest it became for us. Excellent pub almost next door and Beatrix Potter's hamlet is a short walk away. Perfect base for many walks and discovering the beautiful area.

    Nice place to stay away from the busy life. Nearest shop is 3 M away and worth considering while packing there is a pub just round the corner in the small village which is handy aswell.

    Nice little cottage in pretty location, well equipped and immaculate. However the driveway access is not for the faint-hearted!

    The cottage is ideally situated and in a quiet location with an excellent aspect and is well fitted out.

    Great place to stay - we had a lovely peaceful holiday.

    Lovely bucolic setting yet only a short stroll from the pub with good food. Slight problem with lounge TV reception no BBC but this was rectified after a few days. On the day before departure we had no hot water or heating - not such a problem as the weather was warm but would be problematic if it had been cold. A dishwasher instead of washing machine would be nice. All the furnishings were to a high standard.
