Description

Part of cruck construction medieval hall dating back to 1424, located in the heart of Pembridge village, close to Leominster.

West End Farm Cottage is in the wing of the owner’s property, a cruck construction medieval hall dating back to 1424. The holiday property has an abundance of timber framing internally and externally and the bedroom has the cruck construction visible. It is located in the heart of the stunning village of Pembridge with an unusual wealth of half timbered houses, which includes a collection of amenities including shops, cider mill, restaurants and pubs. As well as the architectural interest, there are many beautiful walks along the River Arrow and the surrounding area including the Black and White Trail. Kington, Leominster and the cathedral city of Hereford are close by. Shop and pub 200 yards.

Living room/cosy dining room and beamed kitchen area. Open-tread stairs to first floor: Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and toilet. Beamed throughout.

Beautiful cottage more than covering the needs of people looking for a cosy accomodation . There is the aura of feeling at home and of being welcome. The only annoyance are the lorries and tractors which rattle past your windows during the night. Hence a robust sleep would be of advantage. Nevertheless, we would come back to the Cottage for another holiday.

Fabulous period cottage dating back to pre-1600. Masses of exposed beams and lots of polished wood with a welcoming bottle of good quality wine on the kitchen table. Kitchen diner open plan into good sized lounge with flat screen TV, Cd player and a good variety of CD's,DVD's and books to while away the hours not that we spent much time in the house with so many interesting towns and villages near by. Modern kitchen and bathroom, would have preferred a shower but good sized tub with hand shower was OK. Bedroom was a good size with a comfortable bed and vaulted ceiling with more exposed beams which leads me to the only problem which was the early morning traffic noise. This is a farming community and farmers start early so from soon after six a.m the rumble of tractors, trailers and trucks is very evident. Double glazing would help a lot. That was really our only complaint. We had ample off road parking and a splendid view from the lovely gardens at the rear of the cottage and Sue the owner who lived next door was friendly and always helpful. One tip, if you arrive over the weekend and want to grab an evening meal there are three or four local restaurants or pubs but they fill up quickly and it's wise to book.

Really enjoyed staying in such a splendid old building but with the vital mod cons. A super stay and friendly helpful owner- great!

Lovely historic cottage, well equipped but let down by noisy road outside.

Sue was a fabulous and gracious host and we enjoyed our time immensely! The village was a dream and very local to everything. I would love to go back and hopefully we will.

A really interesting , very old building which has had a lot of thought & care put into it. It was warm & comfortable. We also had access to the lovely grounds at the end of which was a stunning view. The village itself was very quaint with many "black & white" cottages which were part of the trail which goes by the same name. There were three old and original pubs which all served good food. One of the reasons I picked this property was because of its position in proximity to places such as Hereford, Ross on Wye, Hay on Wye and the Welsh border, the scenery in between these places was beautiful. There was a lot to see & do here from a top class base. The only down was the busy road which runs through the village but it didn't actually bother us as much as I thought it might.

This was a super cottage in a lovely village. Everything about it was good except for considerable road noise (ear plugs needed to sleep) and the fact that the shower was hand held with no screen.
