Description

Part of cruck construction medieval hall dating back to 1424, located in the heart of Pembridge village, close to Leominster.

West End Farm Cottage is in the wing of the owner’s property, a cruck construction medieval hall dating back to 1424. The holiday property has an abundance of timber framing internally and externally and the bedroom has the cruck construction visible. It is located in the heart of the stunning village of Pembridge with an unusual wealth of half timbered houses, which includes a collection of amenities including shops, cider mill, restaurants and pubs. As well as the architectural interest, there are many beautiful walks along the River Arrow and the surrounding area including the Black and White Trail. Kington, Leominster and the cathedral city of Hereford are close by. Shop and pub 200 yards.

Living room/cosy dining room and beamed kitchen area. Open-tread stairs to first floor: Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and toilet. Beamed throughout.

A really interesting , very old building which has had a lot of thought & care put into it. It was warm & comfortable. We also had access to the lovely grounds at the end of which was a stunning view. The village itself was very quaint with many "black & white" cottages which were part of the trail which goes by the same name. There were three old and original pubs which all served good food. One of the reasons I picked this property was because of its position in proximity to places such as Hereford, Ross on Wye, Hay on Wye and the Welsh border, the scenery in between these places was beautiful. There was a lot to see & do here from a top class base. The only down was the busy road which runs through the village but it didn't actually bother us as much as I thought it might.

This was a super cottage in a lovely village. Everything about it was good except for considerable road noise (ear plugs needed to sleep) and the fact that the shower was hand held with no screen.

We were welcomed by Sue who opened the door to the cottage and it was WOW what a lovely cottage. Every room was spotless, warm and welcoming. Sue goes the extra mile with fresh milk in the fridge, a bottle of wine on the table and the local newspaper all there for us. She was on hand for any info we might need but left us alone unless she was needed. We look forward to returning and will recommend her to our friends.

Fantastic property, a real slice of history. Great owner, friendly and welcoming. Use of garden welcomed. Might have been cold in winter but the time we stayed was fine. Located on a busy road which could be noisy but we were not really bothered by this, despite living somewhere where we seldom hear traffic.

A clean comfortable well equipped cottage which is unfortunately situated on a road that has heavy goods vehicles passing by day and night. The interruption to sleep was so bad that we left after 4 nights. Traffic through the day would be no real problem it was the lorries late evening and during the night that drove us out. The cottage itself is well equipped and clean with lots of goodies, the owner is friendly and helpful. For us it was just the road noise that was unbearable.

Lovely 14th century cottage, in a ideal position to visit a beautiful part of the country. Sue the owner was very friendly and helpful. The only minus was the constant stream of hgv s pasting in front of the cottage from early morning to late at night.
