Lovely, tiny, cosy, clean cottage! Lovely village close to everything Quite expensive for how small it is, however perfect for 2 people Would definitely stay here again

Well cottage was warm and welcoming. For me personally it was too small and dark, no back door, just felt rather claustrophobic. I was a day without wi-fi which felt a bit isolating until it was fixed and there was no reception for mobile phone either!

I found the spiral staircase more of an issue than I had expected. Getting a suitcase upstairs was a bit of a struggle, as was coming downstairs with something in both hands. The village shop was a disappointment because it carries very limited stock (despite having unused shelf space). Had we planned to self cater we would have had to drive to Bakewell to buy provisions. The cottage, though, was very nice, the keysafe on the door was very convenient, & we could see that an effort had been made to make the house inviting.

The property is not ideal for a family of four, the main bedroom is fine but the twin bed room is only suitable if the children are less than 7 years old as the beds are small and the room cramped. The whole cottage is damp, bedding and furniture felt damp and we had constant slugs appearing in the kitchen area! The cleaning was erratic, some areas were clean others such as behind sofas/under beds/towel rail in bathroom were thick with dust. We did not need to use the high chair or cot which was good because they were dusty and had cobwebs on. The dustbin outside the cottage was full on our arrival so we had to stack our rubbish bags next to it, on the rubbish collection day (which is not detailed in the welcome/information pack) we placed our bags with the neighbors' pile; we could not remove the other rubbish from the dustbin as it was jammed in, and the dustbin is in fact a water butt and as such has a tiny opening at the top, so we had to leave it there. It is unfortunate that you cannot park anywhere near the cottage, and also it has no garden.

Good location, difficult for parking though as no dedicated parking spot and main road quite narrow. Cottage much smaller than we expected with tight spiral staircase and very "compact" second bedroom, not really suitable for 4 adults. Youlgreave nice village and access to river for walks was great.
