This holiday cottage is an 18th-century, Grade II listed converted Cornish barn. Features include exposed beams, stone walls and an enchanting garden with a small folly - ideal for al fresco dining giving a real sense of being in the countryside. Close to Port Isaac, made famous by Doc Martin, Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, and Boscastle. Rock and Padstow within easy reach. Camelford, 1½ miles. Wadebridge, 9 miles, where the Camel Trail can be accessed following the Camel Estuary to Padstow, ideal for walking or cycling. Shop ⅓ mile, pub 1 mile.

    Beautiful cottage with many quirky features. We don't have an issue with the secluded element of the cottage, however some may find this off putting, as it is located in a hamlet and off a main road. The owners are very helpful and approachable if you have any issues. It's a great location for exploring.

    Very pleased with our stay at Well Barn.Lovely cottage,very clean and tidy. The owner Nigel is a great guy who could not do enough for us,really enjoyed his green beans with my Cornish pasties and Cornish potatoes.Would not hesitate to return to Well Barn.

    We had a fabulous stay. The cottage is lovely, in a great location and it had everything we needed. The owners were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We would definatley stay there again.

    Excellent holiday cottage. Couldn't fault property. Only a few things to consider.... 1) Bathroom hook on back of door could damage / shatter shower door. 2) Bathroom shower has no shelf for soap, etc. 3) Window directly opposite lower bunk in kids bedroom has no curtain which resulted in my son being woken up far too early each day. 4) Freezer would be better situated next to Fridge in Kitchen (there is room for it) as this is easier when cooking a meal for the family when wanting frozen veg, etc. 5) Hot tap in Kitchen was faulty. Flow speed was very slow or too fast and often scaulding hot. 6) Fireplace outlet pipe goes up through ceiling of lounge to floor of kids bedroom with a grill with holes in it on the ceiling / floor of 1st floor, so if parents are watching TV the kids bedroom can hear every noise. Owner very pleasant and chatty person. Apart from these minor considerations above I would recommend this to everyone. We are even considering going back one day. Outstanding pros for this cottage... 1) Underfloor heating on ground floor (underneath slate flooring) 2) Bunk bedding for kids 3) Each room was clean, simple and ready for use 4) Lovely garden 5) Pond / Water feature at front of cottage 6) Bath as well as Shower 7) Sink in Master bedroom 8) Plenty of storage space for clothing, etc 9) Dishwasher 10) Well stocked kitchen 11) Breakfast table and Dinning room table 12) Owner left milk, coffee, tea and a bottle of wine for our arrival In addition from this, this cottage is quite near most attractions most of which are within an hour by car (e.g. Bodmin, Launceston, Polperro, Newquay, Looe, Fowey, etc).

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Well Barn and we welcome feedback which helps us to maintain our high standards. We thank you for your considerations and would like to address them individually. The shower door is shatter proof therefore there is no risk of the hook damaging the shower door. There is a hook for shower gels and flannels can be draped over the shower sides. We were advised for safety reasons not to place shelves in the shower in case people slipped and hurt themselves on protrusions. The window in the bunk bedroom is an 'arrow slit' traditional feature with tinted patterned glass approximately 6 by 12 inches facing north and letting in very little light. Should you have contacted us during your stay, we could have provided a cover for the window. The generous size freezer is situated in the utility room to provide extra storage space in the kitchen for families. Each year before letting begins; the taps, flow rates and temperatures for the hot water and under floor central heating are checked and set by a qualified plumbing and heating specialist specifically to avoid temperatures being too hot or cold within safety guidelines. Should you have mentioned it at the time I could have altered the flow for you. In reference to your comments in regards to the fireplace outlet pipe, this is a safety feature that many parents appreciate as they can easily monitor their children up stairs. We have over 23 years of letting experience and pride ourselves on the quality of our grade 2 listed barn conversion and in making sure visitors have the best holiday possible. We also make sure we are available to help with any visitors' questions and we are easily available to solve any issues quickly. Thank you again for your feedback.
