"A truly magical estate to escape to and unwind..."

High in the Devon hills above the Taw/Torridge estuaries Webbery Manor Estate is an oasis of rural tranquillity. Steeped in history and with several noteworthy owners, Webbery Manor Estate was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It was given to Nicholas the Crossbowman, by a grateful William the Conqueror as a Saxon manor. In the 17th century it passed to the Lippincott family, one of whom set sail with the Mayflower flotilla to settle in America. In the 18th century, John Cutcliffe, the grandson of the owner, fought at the battle of Waterloo and was personally promoted by the Duke of Wellington.
Set in 30 acres of parkland and woods, with grazing sheep, deer, owls, pheasant, birds of prey and other wildlife. The delightful gardens have numerous specimen trees and banks of rhododendrons giving a spectacular spring display. While the organic walled kitchen gardens grow some more unusual varieties of vegetables to the UK. You will find Romanesco, Cavelo Nero, and Pink Fir Apple potatoes to name a few, all complimentary subject to season and availability.

Chapel Cottage is a stylish romantic location for couples. This elegant cottage was once the family chapel but has been skilfully converted to comfortable and elegant accommodation. With its cosy sitting room filled with luxurious period furniture, sumptuous fabrics, period antiques and French doors onto a walled courtyard and terrace. The kitchen has handmade cupboards in Regency/Gothic style, Belfast sink, wood floor and dining area, and is reached by a short set of stairs. The pretty, light and airy bedroom has crisp linens, fluffy duvet, dual aspect windows and Victorian brass bed, ideal to enjoy a relaxing morning.
On a hot summer day explore the wonderful parkland, or spend a lazy afternoon on the shared tennis court. If you venture further afield, the Tarka Trail is only minutes away, and has extensive cycle ways with wonderful estuary views. Fishing and horse riding can be found within 5 miles. Shops and pubs 5 miles.

Sitting room with French doors to courtyard. Six steps up to kitchen/dining room with fitted handmade cupboards and breakfast area. First floor: Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with over-bath electric shower and toilet (bath is small ‘knee bath’ approx 4ft).

Beautifully decorated and equipped cottage. Friendly , welcoming owners. Little extra luxuries provided such as wine, homemade scones, tea, coffee & milk. Wonderful! Please be aware that the stairs to the bedroom are a little steep and bed is very high. If disabled may need alternative cottage. However height of luxury, stunning gardens with lots of birds to see.

Stunning property in fantastic location. The owners are so friendly and encourage the use of the grounds and picking produce from the well stocked kitchen gardens for you to cook with, they could not be more welcoming with homemade scones and a bottle of wine on arrival, a real home from home. We were delighted with our holiday at the chapel.
