The low scores reflect the fact that the boiler wasn't working for most of the time we were there. So we had no hot water therefore no hot showers . The first night was freezing but luckily we found spare duvets in the cupboards. The arranged engineer never showed. Altogether very unsatisfactory which was a real shame because the cottage itself was very nice but it spoilt our holiday.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; It is of course deeply regrettable that the boiler was not functioning during our guests' stay and as a result they had no heat or hot water. As soon as we were made aware of the problem on Friday December 1st we arranged for an engineer from British Gas with whom we have a service contract to come to the property on Saturday morning, December 2nd, between 10.00am and 12.00pm to address the situation. This information was conveyed to our guests so they could give access to the engineer. According to British Gas' records, the engineer arrived at the property at 1.00pm on Saturday December 2nd and found no one home. As a result, he couldn't gain access to the cottage to fix the problem. Unfortunately, we didn't learn that the engineer had not been able to gain access to the property on Saturday until Tuesday December 5th (our guests left on Monday December 4th) when we immediately addressed the problem with British Gas (the heat exchanger in the boiler needed to be replaced) and fixed the problem. We make every effort to make our guests' stay as comfortable as possible. We have a number of service contracts and if there are any mechanical issues, we respond as quickly as possible and make every effort to fix the problem. In this instance, it appears our best efforts were disappointingly unsuccessful.

I have stayed here before and it was immaculate, there has been a change of caretaker and it shows. Everything needs a thorough clean i.e. all dishes need to go through the dishwasher. Bed linen was stained and the whole place needs a bit of TLC. The loss of a private parking space is a factor as I am disabled with Asthma and i spent a lot of time searching for a space. I phoned the caretaker, no reply and texted her, no reply as the heating broke down on the coldest night of the year -6 recorded in Pershore. I left a day early and left a letter for the caretaker with some concerns. I have not received a courtesy call or text back, very disappointed. These concerns need to be fed back to the owners as they are paying the caretaker for a service. No welcome pack no cleaning materials etc etc

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; As Owners who care deeply about the comfort of our guests, we were naturally disappointed and concerned to read this comment. We intend to immediately address the concerns expressed with our caretakers, and take appropriate steps to rectify any outstanding issues. We regret the loss of the private parking space which was conveniently located near to the cottage, but unfortunately the owners of the space we had previously rented for the use of our guests decided to no longer rent the space but instead use it themselves. Obviously, the lack of heat/hot water, even for a relatively short time, is not welcome particularly when the weather is as cold as it was. When we were made aware there was a problem with the central heating boiler/hot water, we immediately contacted British Gas with whom we have a Home Service Contract and they the dispatched an engineer to fix the problem as soon as possible the next morning. The boiler is relatively new and is inspected and maintained annually, but in light of recent problems we intend to have British Gas conduct an additional full inspection of the system.

A lovely cottage in a great location. It has all the facilities you could want and is only a minutes walk from the centre of Stowe.

Probably the best equipped and furnished cottage we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many. The only downside to our stay was parking on arrival, to unload our gear, of which we bring plenty, ended up in the completely empty car park of the church next door, had no intention of leaving the car there, nearly unloaded when the most miserable of churchmen came out and admonished us. Parking after this was easy on nearby residential roads if you turn left out of the cottage gate walk down the hill a short distance look over to your right there is a green, look across you will see the roads I mean, I was careful to park where I would not upset a resident.

The cottage is beautiful. The owner was very helpful when we contacted him with a problem. This was resolved very quickly and did not spoil our holiday.

It was our second visit to Weaver's Cottage. It is a delightful property, very cosy and thoroughly equipped. Sky TV was a great bonus! An added bonus - it's dog friendly. Parking can be a bit of a problem - the road outside the cottage has no restrictions so spaces are a premium! Our previous visit last year included a parking space at a nearby house but it seems this is no longer available. The stairs at Weaver's Cottage is quite steep so maybe not suitable for those with mobility problems.

Had a super 3-night break at Weavers Cottage in September. Location is fantastic, just a stone's throw from the main streets of Stow. Cottage was comfortable and had everything you could need. Parking very close by. Very modern kitchen and bathroom with fabulous facilities. Lounge and dining areas cosy and relaxing. Heating plentiful and very flexible. Fabulous!

Excellent cottage in a fabulous location. Couldn't be better placed as within walking distance of all the local amenities and pubs. Lots of excellent walks in the local area within a very short drive and some from the doorstep. Cottage is very welcoming and we had a very relaxing holiday. Dog friendly with a private patio and a small grassed area 2 minutes away. Parking was never an issue. Would not hesitate to use this cottage again as a base to explore the Cotswolds.

We had a lovely stay at Weavers Cottage. It was clean, well equipped and in a perfect location, very quiet but a two minute walk to the centre of the village. We would definitely stay again.

Weaver cottage was just beautiful very traditional but beautifully maintained. My only problem was the traffic directly outside the cottage , once you open the gate you step on a quite busy road. Cottage only a few steps from all the amenities. Would defiantly visit again .
